what to expect
The application can be performed with or without undergarments or a bathing suit. Optional disposable bottoms and nipple covers will be provided for your convenience. Feel free to wear as much or as little clothing as you prefer.
Upon arrival, we will provide you with our prep items and set up our equipment while you prepare in private. We will then conduct a color consultation, address any concerns you may have, and create a custom solution tailored to your preferences.
After the color consultation, we will then direct you into our spray tan tent, apply barrier cream and then direct you through poses during the application process. There's no pressure at all - we're here to support you, and the process will be over before you know it!
After the application, as we tidy up, we suggest changing into loose, dark-colored clothing (long sleeve + pants). Payment will be taken and processed at this time.
INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE
- For optimal results, we recommend that beauty services such as nails, massages, lashes, waxing, and shaving be completed at minimum 24 hours before your spray tan session. For waxing, it is advisable to wait 48 hours before a spray tan to ensure the best outcome.
- Kindly cease using retinol, accounting for acne products, resurfacing products, etc., for a minimum of 7 days prior to your session; we can also refrain from spraying the treated areas if you prefer.
- Moisturize AND exfoliate the skin daily leading up to the appointment (not day of).
DAY OF
- DO NOT shower the day of your appointment. If you must, please shower first thing in the morning.
- Avoid lotion, soap and body wash containing mineral oils, petroleum and alcohol. These ingredients can affect the result and prevent solution from developing correctly. It’s important to allow the amino acids to reconstruct as DHA needs amino acids to develop. Also, the pores need time to close before the application, otherwise it may leave dark dots. If you naturally have large pores that appear open on a regular basis, let us know! We have a solution just for you to avoid this!
- To ensure the best results, we kindly request that you refrain from wearing jewelry, glasses, makeup, cream, sunscreen, perfume, or deodorant on the day of your appointment. If necessary, please inform us, and we will assist in mitigating any issues to the best of our ability.
AFTER
- Avoid activities that provoke sweating or any contact with liquid during the development period (24 hours). If it’s raining, or snowing outside, wear long and covering clothing.
- Do not apply cream or makeup on the skin for the first 24 hours.
- If you will be sleeping while marinating, go to bed wearing long clothes. Skin on skin contact will cause overdevelopment and splotchiness. Avoid touching your face and or skin during before the first rinse.
- Refer to your aftercare card provided at the time of your appointment for your first rinse time. Rinse the whole body and face thoroughly, using no more than water and your hands. Rinse until the water is clear. The color that runs off is purely cosmetic! Your tan will develope to it’s true color over the next 24 hours.
- For your second rinse, 24 hours after your appointment, you may shower with an approved soap using just your hands. A list of suggested products is included in our FAQs below.
- Moisturize the skin twice a day with a spray tan approved lotion. Use gentle facial cleansers, no oil based or exfoliating products. Again, recommended products are listed below.
- Do not exfoliate the skin for the duration of the result.
- Do not wax areas where solution has been applied for the duration of the result. A delicate shaving may be done occasionally.
- Excessive sweating, jacuzzis or saunas, swimming, taking long hot baths or showers can often cause faster fading.
- When the results start to fade, it will be essential to exfoliate the skin again in order to remove the old tan residue. If not, it runs the risk of becoming patchy.

POLICIES
Booking
We require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking, which will be applied towards the total cost of your spray tan session.
Cancellations
We get it that sometimes things come up and you may need to cancel. The Bronze Society has a 20% cancellation fee + retention of your booking deposit if cancelled within 24 hours of appointment. If you are unable to make the appointment, please kindly notify us at customerservice@thebronzesocietytx.com as soon as possible to reschedule.
Minors
Under 18 may still tan but are required to wear undergarments and have a parent/guardian present at all times who is responsible for signing a waiver on their behalf.

FAQs
Recently Sunburned?
Please note that despite the appearance of healing, it may take several months for your skin to fully regenerate and be ready to accept spray tan solution. We cannot guarantee optimal results if you have recently experienced sunburn. Examples of spray tans weeks/months after being sunburned.
New Tattoo?
For your safety and well-being, we kindly ask that you wait to schedule an appointment until your new tattoo is fully healed to prevent any potential infection, as it remains an open wound.
Laser Treatments?
Should not be done at the same time as spray tans. Lasers are attracted to pigment, but they do not know the difference between a spray tan or a sun tan. A spray tan should be done at least 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after a laser session.
You just left and my tan is now splotchy!
No need to worry! This is just the cosmetic guide included in our solutions and can sometimes move around. Feel free to take a kabuki or powder brush to pat out any splotches. Don’t blend too much though! This is just the guide and will come off in the rinse and soap shower revealing an even tan. The splotches you see are NOT your tan.
Tan rinsed off during initial rinse?
Perfect! What you see rinsing down the drain is just the cosmetic guide included in the solution. Be patient as the DHA is still developing. Your tan will be fully processed at 24 hours.
What do I do if I have streaks after my initial rinse?
Go for another rinse as the cosmetic guide is probably still lingering. If it won’t budge, it should dissipate after your soap shower.
What products do you and do you not recommend?
The following are not scent specific. As always, please avoid any skin resurfacing products or treaments, even from these brands, for the duration of your tan.

While in college, I worked at a tanning salon in the early 2000s, so it isn't exactly a stretch that I would attempt my exit from the corporate world to finally chase my secret dream of owning my own spray tan salon. My spray tan obsession was rekindled during COVID when I researched the science behind DHA, the naturally derived chemical that is responsible for the skin darkening process. I was amazed to discover that this substance, made from beets and sugarcane, could be manipulated to create stunning results - No Ross Geller here. The key lies in understanding how to work with it. I have attended multiple certification courses and have been offering mobile spray tanning services as a side business ever since. Encouraged by the success I experienced, I decided to take the leap and officially established my LLC in 2024, laying the groundwork for my future leap into owning my own salon.
I am constantly driven by the desire to learn more and never tire from the joy of making people feel beautiful and seen. In today’s world, it's hard not to lose our sparkle, but witnessing that spark reignite in the eyes of women by making them feel comfortable and beautiful makes my entire world come alive - more than any corporate promotion ever could.
During my office days, I actively sought a mobile spray tan service that offered top-quality ingredients, inclusive add ons, mileage transparency, and above all, a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere akin to a secret society without judgement.
